Insertion

2013

My second map for CSGO. It has been featured in CSGO two times in Operations and after the second operation it stayed in the game for about one year.

 

I wanted to make an attack/defend map where the defenders dont just sit and wait in a "perfect" spot.

Some of the things I did to achieve this was:

-The spawning system, where the attackers can choose from 4 different insertion points
-The open world type layout where attackers truly can come from any angle.
-The interior spaces where all rooms have more than one entrance (including windows).

3D asset highlight

I built the helicopter (+pilot) to use on the map. I wanted to differentiate between the different insertion points (which are two SWAT trucks, boats, and helicopters).

The pilot is an old character that I built when I was studying 3D-art. I reskinned the jacket and put some headphones on. Then I posed him in the pilot seat and made a simple looping animation for him.
